CPTA's experienced staff includes leaders in our field with exceptional educational and clinical experience. Together they work to provide the highest quality of care for our clients.
Darci DeBaun PT, MSPT
Darci DeBaun is CPTA's owner and seasoned pediatric physical therapist of over 20 years. Darci began at Children's Physical Therapy Associates as a student intern while studying physical therapy.
Darci worked at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta for 6 years in the pediatric outpatient program and served as a member of the CHOA Torticollis Task Force prior to returning to Kansas City and joining CPTA.

Darci has experience and continuing education in serial casting, myofascial release, and torticollis. She has completed the APTA's Certification in Aquatic Physical Therapy Clinical Competence and additionally has been lifeguard and water safety certified. Darci holds a Masters of Science in Physical Therapy from KU Medical Center.

When she is not treating clients, Darci can be found spending time with her husband and two kids for a good ol' game night, cooking, or camping.
Jessica Duvall PT, DPT
Jessica Duvall is a pediatric physical therapist who has worked at Children's Physical Therapy Associates since 2013. Jessica has relevant clinical experience through internships at the Children's Center for the Visually Impaired and Ranken Jordan Pediatric Hospital.

Currently her professional interests are neuro-rehabilitation, aquatics, and visual motor integration. Jessica has completed the APTA's Certification in Aquatic Physical Therapy Clinical Competency.
Jessica holds a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Rockhurst University alongside her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology.
When she is not treating clients, Jessica enjoys chiefs football and playing with her two dogs, Koda and Gunner.
Brooke Olson PT, DPT
Brooke Olson is a pediatric physical therapist who has worked at Children's Physical Therapy Associates since 2015. Brooke began at CPTA as a student intern while studying physical therapy.

She has continuing education experience in Neurodevelopment Treatment and rocktape. Brooke has completed the APTA's Certification in Aquatic Physical Therapy Clinical Competency.
Brooke holds a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Rockhurst University alongside her Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science from University of Kansas.

When she is not treating clients, Brooke can be found keeping up with her toddler, watching KU basketball, or soaking up time at the beach.
Megan Koenigsman, PT, DPT
Megan Koenigsman is a pediatric physical therapist who has worked at Children's Physical Therapy Associates since 2024. Prior to being hired, Megan began at CPTA as a student intern in 2023.

Megan has professional interests in aquatics and neuro-rehabilitation. Megan has completed continuing education in FMT RockBlades Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization. Megan holds a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from University of Kansas Medical Center alongside her Bachelor's Degrees in Kinesiology from K-State University.

When she is not treating clients, Megan enjoys going to K-State football games, summer lake days, and being active outdoors!
Joan Francis, Office Manager
Joan Francis is our Office Manager, who has been with Children's Physical Therapy Associates since 2015. Joan keeps the clinic organized as well as ensures our billing flows smoothly. She has a passion to help our patients and their families navigate the sometimes difficult medical insurance processes that they might face. Whether it is onboarding new clients, updating insurance, submitting grants, filing insurance claims or answering billing questions, Joan is our main point of contact at CPTA.
She is a long-time resident of Kansas City and has three grown children and six step children. She enjoys spending time with her ever-expanding family. Joan's hobbies include interior design and traveling with her husband.
Terry Petersen MS, PT, PCS
Terry Petersen graduated from the University of Kansas with a B.S. in physical therapy in 1974 and completed a Master's degree in physical therapy in 1993. She was a Pediatric Clinical Specialist. Terry founded Children's Physical Therapy Associates in 1994 and worked tirelessly to provide exceptional aquatic- and land-based physical therapy services for children and young adults in the Kansas City area before retiring in 2015.
Terry's varied experiences include multidisciplinary training with the Capper Foundation, the Britain Center and school therapy. She served as a pediatric instructor in the physical therapy program at KU Medical Center for 5 years. She has twice published a pediatrics chapter in Comprehensive Aquatic Therapy edited by Becker and Cole and contributed to the APTA's Certification in Aquatic Physical Therapy Clinical Competency (CAPTCC) by authoring the "Aquatics Physics" module.
